School Started.....and what a week it was!!!!!
I didn't pick out the outfits today....the boys picked them out themselves. Yes I bought them similar clothes cause they like the same things but they are the ones that decide to wear them on the same day.
School started this week and oh my goodness it was a week that I don't want to relive. It all started out first thing Monday morning. First of all no bus came and picked up kids on our bus route. Next, I take Josh to school and find out that the class he should be in the teacher didn't have a clue and he wasn't on her class list so she didn't have a desk for him. See what happened was that he was put in a class but the school made a mistake and put him in a class with this other kid that I have requested that they not be in the same class ever (and the principle agrees that it would/could be bad if they were in the same class). I found out in the summer that they were in the same class so I emailed the principle and told him and requested that he be put in this other class with Josh's best friend and the principle agreed to it and said he made the change. So this teacher of where he should have been agreed to keep him that morning so I left.
Later I take Kaiden to Kindergarten orientation and when we finish up we go to lunch and was going to hang around up town and then pick Josh up from school. Well I get a message that the principle called and needed to talk to me as soon as possible(not something a mother likes hearing). Since I was uptown I decided to just go to the school and see what was going on. Well I get there and they tell me that Josh can't be in this class with his friend cause Josh's resource teacher thinks it is a BAD IDEA and that they will just goof off all the time. Josh's therapist thought it would be good for Josh to have a buddy in class that would help him out with stuff but apparently the resource teachers doesn't agree. Whatever....anyways they ended up moving him to another class. Josh wasn't happy about it but the next day he went he was ok with it and likes the new teacher....so we will see how the year goes.
So Tuesday comes and the bus comes but it is all messed up. And that afternoon coming home several kids missed the bus cause of all the confusion of what bus was going where.
Then Wednesday I had a dentist appointment and it turned out to be a HORRIBLE experience. The appointment was only suppose to take 1 hour and was getting a filling in one tooth that had a small cavity. Well the dentist couldn't get the tooth completely numb. He ended up giving me 5-6 shots(I lost count). My jaw and tongue was SO numb when he finished but the tooth wasn't. I couldn't talk, I couldn't swollow, I couldn't do anything cause it HURT SO BAD. And the next day I was still in major pain.
So Thursday, like I said I was still in misery from the visit to the dentist but still went to work cause our manager was gone. I went into work an hour early to help the other lady. Well when I got to work she should have got the gravy cooked but she didn't. So we got a late start on the cooking for the day. Then about an hour before the kids are to come in for lunch I realize that she didn't get the rolls out. They were in the freezer....so we quickly pull them out and get them in our hotboxes so they can hopefully get unthawed before we serve. Then in the middle of the serve I am in the back cooking and opened the oven and went to take a temp of the meat I as cooking and I didn't wait long enough before sticking my hand up there and ended up getting a nasty steam burn on my wrist.
And of course we couldn't have Friday be a day where nothing happened. I ended up smashing my pinkie and getting a little cut on it at work. Then Josh for some reason thought that I was picking him up from school so he didn't get on the bus. When I went to pick him up he had told grandpa that he would be out back of the school and he wasn't. I circled the school twice and then had to go in and look for him. Then Kylie decided to be a "turkey" and when I was trying to water my garden(if you want to call it that....its mostly weeds right now) she comes running out there and runs through the weeds and mud. Everytime Josh would get her he would try to dry her off a little with a towel and she would break free and come right back out to the garden. So I had to catch her and hose her down. She HATED that and let me know it by biting me repeatedly and flipping water all over me.
My question now.....is Saturday going to be better? And is it going to get better next week?
KYLIE MAE WARD
We got us a new puppy!!!!! We got a cute little girl. She is a Springer Spaniel. We got her when she was only six weeks old and she weight 5.5 pounds. We had her to the vet a couple of weeks ago and she is up to about 10 pounds...she gained almost 5 pounds in 4 weeks. She is now 12 weeks old. She is fun but she can also be a pain. She likes to chase the boys around the house....and they like her chasing them, that is until she catches them and bites them. She has the LOVELY puppy teeth and oh my are they super sharp. She is having a hard time adjusting right now cause school started so no one is home during the day and she gets locked up in a room while we are gone. This drives her crazy and if she doesn't get outside and get exercise then she gets quite "feisty" and just bites us like crazy. She is doing great with the potty training.....but as far as all the other training she is struggling with, so we will be looking into puppy classes very soon. The boys love having a new puppy and do pretty good at helping take of her. I like having her too. She helps fill the void left from my other dog. She is WAY different then our old dog and we love her very much even though she can get a little mean at times....hopefully she out grows that soon.

LOST:summer.....
I seem to have lost my summer. Has anyone seen it???? I know I haven't posted much lately but we have been really busy and things have been crazy most of the summer.
Summer has just flown by so fast for me. I can't believe that it is time for school to start. You would think that after being with two extremely wild and crazy boys for several months that I would be ready to send them off to school but it is actually the opposite. I am not ready for them to go back to school. I have enjoyed our time together and really wish that we had more time to do things. I guess we will now have to try and fit in fun things with school and homework.
We had a pretty busy summer with a couple of vacations, several doctors appointments, the caring for a sick dog and the lose of that dog, the addition to the family, and the just hanging out and having fun.
We only got to go to St. George once this summer because of things that happened and changes that took place this summer. We did get to go to Yellowstone the first week of July and that was so AWESOME. I meant to post about it and post pictures but never got around to it with everything that happened with my dog and everything since then.
We found out this summer that both my boys have allergies pretty bad. They are both allergic to alot but my youngest is worse. He is allergic to cats, dogs, horses, grasses, trees, weeds, molds, etc......oh and cashews. So now we have to pack an epi pin and keep him away from all tree nuts especially cashews. With him starting school we have had tons of paper work to fill out regarding his allergy and epi pin and regarding his asthma.
The rest of our summer flew by and we just hung out at home playing in the pool out back and going to lunch and the park a few times and taking care of things at home.
So......has anyone seen my summer? If so can you PLEASE RETURN IT TO ME NOW CAUSE I DESPERATELY NEED AND WANT IT BACK!!!!!!!!

One of the Worst Weeks ever!!!!!!!!
December 1995 - July 10, 2008
This has been the worst week ever. It all started Friday July 4th. We just got back home from a vacation and I see my "baby girl" (my dog). I have known for sometime that she was getting old and she has been sick for like the past year, the vet said last year that she had lupus and she has had problems with her back hips for several years but I get home and get told that she almost didn't make it before I got home and that my sister had her in to the vet the day before and they had to give her IV fluids and couple of shots just so that she would make it until we got home. So from Friday on I was having to hand feed her whatever she would eat, which was mostly eggs and popsicles and I was having to help her down the stairs to go outside and even ended up packing her several time outside to go potty. Then on Monday night she started having seizures....luckily she only had a few but things just kept getting worse. She quit drinking water and most of the time she just laid around close by me and slept. Then today she really started having problems. I knew she wasn't going to make it much longer but she sure was putting up a fight. I had hoped that she would go on her own but she wasn't so I had to make the difficult decision to put her down. So today my baby past on. I have had her for 12 1/2 great years and we are going to miss her more then anything.....well at least I will. I came home a little while ago from my mom's and it was so hard walking in the door knowing that she isn't here anymore to greet us when we come home....she isn't here anymore for me to love when I am feeling down. Some people may think I am weird for calling her my "baby girl" but I am a serious dog lover and she was just like one of my kids. So to my baby girl Caralina(Pooh Bear).....I love you so much and I miss you!!!!

Summer Has Arrived (at least it did in St George for a few days)
I think summer finally arrived and we took our first little trip of the summer and went down to Saint George for a few days. The weather was pretty nice. We just hung out at the pool since that is what the boys love to do.
Of course I ended up getting a little sunburned.
They really love playing in the water.
picture of mom

This is a beautiful drawing done by my very talented son Kaiden. He is a budding artist at the young age of 5 years. That is a lovely picture of me, his mother. For those of you that know me...can't you just see the likeness. Well no matter what anyone else thinks......I think he did a SUPER job!!!!!!

THE WORLD'S GREATEST GRANDPA

I don't care what anyone else says but I had the WORLD'S GREATEST GRANDPA!!!!! It has been a year since my grandpa past away. I may not have gotten to see him as much as I would have liked to over the past several years but I loved him very much. When I was a kid we would go see my grandparents once a month and I always looked forward to going to their house. I also got to spend several summers with them. The memories I have have those times are the best.
We use to walk down to the firestation with grandpa to lock up and of course grandpa would always let us see the big fire trucks and we would get to sit in them. We would even talk grandpa into turning on the lights and sirens for us. It was so super cool.
Grandpa use to raise rabbits and we use to have so much fun playing with them. Grandpa even let me "claim" one of the baby bunnies as mine. I couldn't take it home with me so grandpa took good care of it for me.
I remember one summer I stayed with grandpa and grandma and I would talk grandpa into taking a ride on his motorcycle I think everyday. I wish I could go back to that summer. I loved those rides with grandpa. We weren't going anywhere really.....we were just out being free and having fun. I loved going for rides in grandpa's old truck also.
And who could forget grandpa's special "pie". Amy knows what I am talking about. We got that "pie" all the time and it didn't matter if you didn't want it or not...you still got some.
I think my most favorite times at grandpa's would have to be just going in his barber shop and watching him work. I spent so much time there just watching him.
My grandpa was the GREATEST GRANDPA ever and I miss him.

Since I was a little child,
In all that I've been through;
You've always been my hero,
No one stood as tall as you.
You were the one who took the time,
To teach what I needed to learn;
The lessons in life you shared with me,
You shared with love and concern.
I loved you as a little child,
And now that I am grown;
I share those lessons you taught me;
With children of my own.
Generation to generation,
I'll pass on your legacy;
I'll tell of my loving Grandpa,
And all that you mean to me.

For my Grandpa. I miss you
There is a man
How he sits in his chair
Thinking of years gone by
Quickly he smiles, slowly he frowns
At his thoughts
Of good times and bad
He takes his photo album
of so many years gone by
So many smiling faces
All looking at him
All of his children
Oh how they have grown
From babies to parents
With babies of their own
Staring up at his face
As he flips through open pages
of his life
So many memories
Of so many years gone by.

For all us GREAT MOMS
Since Mother's Day is this weekend I thought it would be nice to "pay tribute" to all us wonderful moms. I think this little song is funny and pretty true. To watch/listen to it pause my music first. Below is a copy of the lyrics. Hope you enjoy.
The Mom Song
by Anita Renfroe
sung to the William Tell Overture
Get up now, get up now, get up out of bed,
Wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your sleepy head.
Here’s your clothes and your shoes, hear the words I said,
Get up now, get up and make your bed.
Are you hot, are you cold, are you wearing that?
Where’s your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and your gloves and your scarf and hat.
Don’t forget, you’ve gotta feed the cat.
Eat your breakfast, the experts tell us it’s the most important meal of all,
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall.
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at three today,
Don’t forget your piano lesson is this afternoon so you must play.
Don’t shovel, chew slowly, but hurry, the bus is here,
Be careful, come back here, did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside, don’t play rough, would you just play fair?
Be polite, make a friend, don’t forget to share,
Work it out, wait your turn, never take a dare,
Get along, don’t make me come down there.
Clean your room, fold your clothes, put your stuff away,
Make your bed, do it now, do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn? Would you like some hay?
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone, Get off the phone,
Don’t sit so close, turn it down, no texting at the table.
No more computer time tonight,
Your ipod’s my ipod if you don’t listen up.
Where you going and with whom and what time do you think you’re coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me, makes you welcome everywhere you roam.
You’ll appreciate my wisdom someday when you’re older and you’re grown.
Can’t wait til you have a couple little children of your own.
You’ll thank me for the council I gave you so willingly,
But right now I thank you not to roll your eyes at me.
Close your mouth when you chew, we’d appreciate,
Take a bite, maybe two, of the stuff you hate.
Use your fork, do not burp or I’ll set you straight.
Eat the food I put upon your plate.
Get an A, get in the door, don’t be smart with me,
Get a grip, get in here or I’ll count to three,
Get a job, Get a life, get a PhD, get a dose of
I don’t care who started it,
You’re grounded until you’re 36,
Get your story straight and tell the truth for once for heaven sake.
And, if all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you jump to?
If I’ve said once I’ve said it at least a thousand times before,
That you’re too old to act this way,
It must be your father’s DNA.
Look at me when I am talking, stand up straighter when you walk.
A place for everything, and everything must be in place.
Stop crying or I’ll give you something real to cry about.
oh
Brush your teeth, wash your face, get your pj’s on.
Get in bed, get a hug, say a prayer with Mom.
Don’t forget I love you (kiss)
And tomorrow we will do this all again
because a Mom’s work never ends.
You don’t need the reason why,
Because, Because, Because, Because,
I said so, I said so, I said so, I said so.
I’m the Mom, the Mom, the Mom, the Mom, the Mom!

FrontRunner Grand Opening
Today was the opening for the FrontRunner....the commuter train that currently runs from Salt Lake to Ogden. We decided that since they were giving free rides today that we would go ride it. They started giving rides at 2pm. We arrived at the Layton Station a little after 2pm and was told the wait was going to be a couple of hours and that they were only allowing about 30 people to get on per station so that people would get a chance to ride it, otherwise the trains would fill up in Salt Lake. About an hour later a different UTA guy tells us that we are looking at it being like 6pm or 6:30pm before we even get on the train (it was getting close to 3pm). We decided to stay and quite a few people ahead of us left. Then a little after 3pm they came and said they were now allowing 60 people to get on at a time. We got on the train at 4pm and rode it to Odgen and stayed on and rode it all the way back to Salt Lake and then back to Layton. We didn't get back to Layton until about 6:40pm....so it took us about 2 1/2 hours to ride the train but it was fun. There were LOTS of people at every station, there are 7 stops. There are stations in Salt Lake, Woods Cross, Farmington, Layton, Clearfield, Roy, and Ogden.

I have decided that it just is not fair when one day it is so nice outside and you can be out and playing or working for those of us that have a ton of yard work to get done. Then the next day it is windy, cold and SNOWING!!!!! What is up with that?? How dare it play tricks like that with us. Our bodies start to think that Spring is here and the warm weather is here and then it turns cold and throws us into "shock". But you know....no matter what the weather is outside you can always find beauty out there.

Happy Easter!!!!!
Easter is such a great time. I love Easter because of what the real meaning is of Easter. Easter is about Christ and His resurrection. It is a great time of year to remember all that He has done for us. I am so grateful for Christ and the sacrafices He made for me.
Now on to what the kids like about Easter.....the Easter Bunny, the Easter baskets and the Easter egg hunts. I do an Easter egg hunt every year. The boys really love it. It isn't anything really big. I just hide eggs around our yard and they have a blast going and finding them. I could hardly keep up with Josh. He was running everywhere and was going crazy.

Enjoying the snow
The boys really have enjoyed the snow this year. We build a couple of snow hills in the back yard and they had a blast sledding down them. They even got me to go down them and we had a blast.
Caralina even came outside with us and had fun in the snow. She really loved it out there. She would stick her nose down in the snow and kinda bury her face in the snow for a minute.
The boys had fun with her out there. The boys would go down the hills and she would go after them. Then she would stand in the middle of the hill so they couldn't go down.
