Graduation Day

Can't believe that I have another one that is graduating. The years just seem to really fly by so fast. This time it was the graduation of my youngest one from preschool. He is going to be a big kindergartener in the fall.

THE WORLD'S GREATEST GRANDPA

I don't care what anyone else says but I had the WORLD'S GREATEST GRANDPA!!!!! It has been a year since my grandpa past away. I may not have gotten to see him as much as I would have liked to over the past several years but I loved him very much. When I was a kid we would go see my grandparents once a month and I always looked forward to going to their house. I also got to spend several summers with them. The memories I have have those times are the best.

We use to walk down to the firestation with grandpa to lock up and of course grandpa would always let us see the big fire trucks and we would get to sit in them. We would even talk grandpa into turning on the lights and sirens for us. It was so super cool.

Grandpa use to raise rabbits and we use to have so much fun playing with them. Grandpa even let me "claim" one of the baby bunnies as mine. I couldn't take it home with me so grandpa took good care of it for me.

I remember one summer I stayed with grandpa and grandma and I would talk grandpa into taking a ride on his motorcycle I think everyday. I wish I could go back to that summer. I loved those rides with grandpa. We weren't going anywhere really.....we were just out being free and having fun. I loved going for rides in grandpa's old truck also.

And who could forget grandpa's special "pie". Amy knows what I am talking about. We got that "pie" all the time and it didn't matter if you didn't want it or not...you still got some.

I think my most favorite times at grandpa's would have to be just going in his barber shop and watching him work. I spent so much time there just watching him.

My grandpa was the GREATEST GRANDPA ever and I miss him.

Grandpa

Grandpa
Author: Unknown

Since I was a little child,
In all that I've been through;
You've always been my hero,
No one stood as tall as you.

You were the one who took the time,
To teach what I needed to learn;
The lessons in life you shared with me,
You shared with love and concern.

I loved you as a little child,
And now that I am grown;
I share those lessons you taught me;
With children of my own.

Generation to generation,
I'll pass on your legacy;
I'll tell of my loving Grandpa,
And all that you mean to me.

So Many Years Gone By

For my Grandpa. I miss you

There is a man
How he sits in his chair
Thinking of years gone by
Quickly he smiles, slowly he frowns
At his thoughts
Of good times and bad
He takes his photo album
of so many years gone by
So many smiling faces
All looking at him
All of his children
Oh how they have grown
From babies to parents
With babies of their own
Staring up at his face
As he flips through open pages
of his life
So many memories
Of so many years gone by.

For all us GREAT MOMS

Since Mother's Day is this weekend I thought it would be nice to "pay tribute" to all us wonderful moms. I think this little song is funny and pretty true. To watch/listen to it pause my music first. Below is a copy of the lyrics. Hope you enjoy.

The Mom Song
by Anita Renfroe
sung to the William Tell Overture

Get up now, get up now, get up out of bed,
Wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your sleepy head.
Here’s your clothes and your shoes, hear the words I said,
Get up now, get up and make your bed.

Are you hot, are you cold, are you wearing that?
Where’s your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and your gloves and your scarf and hat.
Don’t forget, you’ve gotta feed the cat.

Eat your breakfast, the experts tell us it’s the most important meal of all,
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall.
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at three today,
Don’t forget your piano lesson is this afternoon so you must play.

Don’t shovel, chew slowly, but hurry, the bus is here,
Be careful, come back here, did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside, don’t play rough, would you just play fair?
Be polite, make a friend, don’t forget to share,
Work it out, wait your turn, never take a dare,
Get along, don’t make me come down there.

Clean your room, fold your clothes, put your stuff away,
Make your bed, do it now, do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn? Would you like some hay?
Can you even hear a word I say?

Answer the phone, Get off the phone,
Don’t sit so close, turn it down, no texting at the table.
No more computer time tonight,
Your ipod’s my ipod if you don’t listen up.

Where you going and with whom and what time do you think you’re coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me, makes you welcome everywhere you roam.
You’ll appreciate my wisdom someday when you’re older and you’re grown.
Can’t wait til you have a couple little children of your own.

You’ll thank me for the council I gave you so willingly,
But right now I thank you not to roll your eyes at me.
Close your mouth when you chew, we’d appreciate,
Take a bite, maybe two, of the stuff you hate.
Use your fork, do not burp or I’ll set you straight.
Eat the food I put upon your plate.

Get an A, get in the door, don’t be smart with me,
Get a grip, get in here or I’ll count to three,
Get a job, Get a life, get a PhD, get a dose of

I don’t care who started it,
You’re grounded until you’re 36,
Get your story straight and tell the truth for once for heaven sake.

And, if all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you jump to?
If I’ve said once I’ve said it at least a thousand times before,
That you’re too old to act this way,
It must be your father’s DNA.

Look at me when I am talking, stand up straighter when you walk.
A place for everything, and everything must be in place.
Stop crying or I’ll give you something real to cry about.

oh

Brush your teeth, wash your face, get your pj’s on.
Get in bed, get a hug, say a prayer with Mom.
Don’t forget I love you (kiss)

And tomorrow we will do this all again
because a Mom’s work never ends.

You don’t need the reason why,
Because, Because, Because, Because,
I said so, I said so, I said so, I said so.
I’m the Mom, the Mom, the Mom, the Mom, the Mom!

Ta-Da!
